day 2
MORNING
coffee in the woods
This was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at - little cabin in the woods. It allowed me to have a truly peaceful moment in the morning. Simply taking time to enjoy the unity with nature.
7am - on the porch, with a cup of coffee and a book, listening to the birds singing.
Then head to the central station to take a bus to Vianden.
DAY
romanesque castle and small town charm
After around 2 hour bus ride with the picturesque scenery your way, you will arrive at Vianden.
Walking up the Grand-Rue you will reach the Vianden castle - one of the grandest and most splendid castles of the romanesque and gothic periods in Europe. It is also amazingly restored.
After having a walk through and around the castle and enjoying the views, stop for a cup of coffee with apple strudel and a pretzel on the premises of the castle (since the Vianden town is so close to the German border).
Have a walk around the town (where Victor Hugo stayed on a various occasions and included its sceneries in his works), ride a cableway and have a short hike.
EVENING
Coming back to the city of Luxembourg, go for dinner. Enjoy the local wine in the restaurant with the largest wine list in the world - CHIGGERI - and head to the airport!
